Sisters by Raina Telgemeier

I rate this book 4 out of 5.

I recommend this book for people 8+ years because it has a lot of fights (disagreements between two sisters). This book is all about Raina and Amira. In this book they are going on a road trip for a week in the car to go see their cousins. But if they fight at the dinner table every night, how will they live through a week in the car?

Smile by Raina Telgemeier

I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.

I rate this book 5/5 because I think it really expresses the challenges of life. Also because it is shows us we are all beautiful people no matter what. I would recommend this book for 9+ years because it can have a lot of things that younger kids should not know about. This book is about Raina the author and her childhood. She has faced many challenges including a terrible incident with her teeth one night and how she faces embarrassment. She feels terrible about herself and how humiliated she is. This is a series including: drama, guts, ghosts and sisters.

l rate this book 5 stars.

I recommend this book for girls 8 to 12 years old. It is a non-fiction book all about the way girls grow up and it will prepare you for your pre-teen years (it has really girly stuff so I recommend it for only girls).

Weirdo by Anh Do

I rate this book 5 out of 5 because it is a funny book.

I suggest that people aged 5+ years should read this book because it doesn’t have any horror parts. If you want a quick short book to read, this is the book to get. It is a chapter book and if you are an Anh Do fan then you would like Weirdo. I strongly suggest this book. This book is all about a person who is named Weirdo and he gets annoyed how his teachers always ask him his first name, and then his last name and so he always has to say my name is Weir Do.

Captain Underpants and the Attack of the Talking Toilets by Dav Pilkey

I rate this book 4 out of 5.

I recommend this book for people that are 8+ years because this book has a lot of words in it. This book is about Harold and George making comic books of things that happened to them. This Captain Underpants book is all about a toilets which are evil. The  evil toilets start chasing Harold and George. In the end Captain Underpants can't beat the toilets so he uses a robot to destroy them, but how could you use a robot to stop an evil toilet?

Plum and Woo: The Puzzling Pearls by Lisa Siberry

I rate this book 5/5 because of the way it draws you in and makes you want to keep reading.

I recommend it for ages 8+ years because it would be too scary for little children. It’s about two girls, Hannah and Patti, and their adventure at the Heart Break Hotel. They discover a mysterious guest staying in room 44 and the cat of the old owner who recently passed away. I recommend for people who like intense mysteries and twists at the end of books.

The Peski Kids by R. A. Spratt

I rate this book 5 out of 5 because I think it is really funny.

I recommend this book for 5+ years because the words are quite big, but there are lots of them! It’s about April, a crazy middle aged child, and she loves to wrestle with her younger brother Finn. Joe, the older brother, stutters a lot when he speaks. After their mother is jailed and house is blown up, they move to Currawong, a crazy country town that hosts really weird festivals from cockroach racing to mud runs.

The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst by Jaclyn Moriarty

I rate this book 5 out of 5

It is a really good book that is really hooking. I would recommend it for 9+ years because it can be quite scary in some parts. The Stolen Prince of Cloudburst is a story about a girl who goes to Katherine Valley Boarding School but somethings are different this year, like there are rumours that her teacher is aa ogre, and more shadow mages are gathering on the hill tops so could it be related to the Stolen Prince of Cloudburst?

The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer

I rate this book 4/5

I recommend it for people who are any age because it is a really fun book about two characters, Conner and Alex. Their grandma has a book of fairy tales. When they were reading it they get sucked into the book. T
hey must find a way out, but how do they do it?

This is just the first book to an action packed series.

Wolf Girl by Anh Do

I rate this book 4/5

I recommend this book 8+ years and for people that enjoy the adventure genre.

This book is about a girl who had to evacuate her home because of bombs, but when they were driving away there was an explosion and her parents told her to flee into the bush. She got lost and found a pack of wolves that supported her.

Earthquakes by Georgia Amson-Bradshaw

I rate this book 5 out of 5.

This book is about earthquakes and some about tsunamis. I think it’s recommended age is round about 6+ years because there are quite hard words, like crust, seismology and tsunami. It helps you find out what earthquakes are and how they are caused, understand how scientists can measure earthquakes and what makes some earthquakes so much more destructive than others. It tests your knowledge at the end, for example is the epicentre of an earthquake on the surface of the earth or underground? That’s one to think about!

Bad Guys by Aaron Blabey

I rate bad guys 5 out of 5 because I think it is quite epic, as a book series.

I recommend it for people 7+ years because I think it does involve a little violence. It is all about a
wolf, a snake, a piranha and a shark. They all have to work together if they want to achieve something big….

The Midnight Gate by Helen Stringer

I rate this book a 5/5.

I recommend it for people who are 9 years or over. It is a very good book about a girl named Belladonna who can talk to ghosts. They need to save the world by going into the land of the dead and pass seven gates, each one with a different monster!!

The Witches by Roald Dahl

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars.

I think this is a really cool book and it involves a little bit of magic. I do also think it might be a bit scary so I recommend it for people 10+ years so it doesn’t spook out young children.

This book is all about witches hiding in a hotel looking like normal people but, every year, they have secret meetings and this year they are plotting to turn all the children in the world into mice!
